About My Approach
​
My approach to counselling is a strength based, person-centered and holistic and collaborative. I create a safe, compassionate and non-judgmental space for clients to share their story and be heard. Throughout my counselling session I support my clients by helping them to draw from their strengths, and develop self-compassion as they engage in the therapeutic process.
I draw from various evidence based treatment approach including: Mindfulness, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy.

CBT is an evidenced based treatment approach that helps people learn to identify and change negative or disturbing thought patterns that have a negative influence on behaviour and emotions.

Why I Use CBT:
​
CBT has been shown to be effective in treating anxiety disorders, depression, alcohol and drug use problems, marital problems, and severe mental illnesses.
