Counselling & Psychotherapy

Taking your first step to seek counselling requires courage. In the words of Brené Brown, "Our stories are not meant for everyone. Hearing them is a privilege," and this is a privilege that I do not take lightly. I look forward to the opportunity to come along side you wherever you are at on your journey.

About My Approach

My approach to counselling is a strength based, person-centered and holistic and collaborative. I create a safe, compassionate and non-judgmental space for clients to share their story and be heard. Throughout my counselling session I support my clients by helping them to draw from their strengths, and develop self-compassion as they engage in the therapeutic process.

I draw from various evidence based treatment approach including: Mindfulness, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy.

Types of Therapy

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

  • Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)

  • Mindfulness Based Therapy

  • Motivational Interviewing

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT is an evidenced based treatment approach that helps people learn to identify and change negative or disturbing thought patterns that have a negative influence on behaviour and emotions.

Why I Use CBT:

CBT has been shown to be effective in treating anxiety disorders, depression, alcohol and drug use problems, marital problems, and severe mental illnesses.
